Concrete Central, located on Long Island, New York, is a progressive company dedicated to utilizing the ancient medium of concrete to create modern, innovative and practical designs for your home or workplace.
The owner, Steve Melnick, originally came from an artistic backround as a photographer and painter then later found his way into the construction business. He soon discovered he could apply his creative vision to the fabrication of concrete creations, and thus Concrete Central Inc. was formed.
Our designs encompass an array of objects including concrete countertops, sinks, bars, bathroom vanities, furniture, fireplaces, decorative tiles, concrete floors and more. We pride ourselves in working closely with each client, listening carefully to your ideas and specific needs. The end results is a finished work of art that is both practical and visually pleasing.
Concrete has a visual warmth, and a tactile quality. The creative possibilities in fabricating a concrete project are endless. Because it starts as liquid stone it can be completely customized into almost any form, adding integral colors and stains, embedding colored stones or glass to create different effects. In short, we start with a blank canvas and create something for you that is personal, durable, and one of a kind.
Our Philosophy
At Concrete Central we embrace a philosophy of imperfect beauty that the Japanese call “wabi sabi”. It is an asthetic quality of an object that promotes the humble, the irregular, the timeworn and the awkward. Wabi Sabi finds beauty in the wearing, aging, and patina that come with use and time.
